Isaiah 54: “the future glory of zion”
“Sing o barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who was a husband.” Give thanks to the lord, for now the lord has given you the fruits of your labour, you see the harvest ripening and that more people, more friends, more loved ones coming to know the lord. Sometimes, we should not be upset to groan and moan over the our losses and failures in life, but rather we should thank God for the blessings he has given us. For ex, we may lose 1sheep along the way, but in the process gain 10 other sheep. Isn’t that a joy.?..a reward.?..
Therefore, do not look at your failures and what you have lost, but rather focused on what the lord has given you and make good full use of your skills and abilities to shine for God and bless others. “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes” YES. Dream big for the LORD. Let’s expand our dream for the lord, so that as we fulfill our own personal dream, we can also do what the lord has told us to do.
“the lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit—a wide who married young, only to be rejected.” THIS strongly reminded me chae-kyoung in goong, who was not accustomed to the palace life, and who MARRIED YOUNG( at the age of 19) and only to be rejected by her friends, the society, her *supposedly* husband, she lost her freedom and she’s like a bird stuck in her cage. She no longer can live her life that she wants and has to conform to a future planned for her. She can no longer dream, she has to be stuck in the palace with the status of her being a crown princess, and beside her is the arrogant crown prince who likes her, but did not know how to express his love to her. BUT, there has to be a solution, and chae-kyoung decides to divorce with the crown prince to end her horrible fate and destiny. I think it’s the same with our spiritual walk with God, we thought we would enjoy the world outside, that we can do things the way we like, and would not have to care what the lord wants to do in our life. When we actually live a LIFE we want, we find out that life becomes worse than it’s supposed to be. We thought we would be in control of our lives once we decide to be masters of our life, but we realize that’s not the case, for lives are already in the hands of society and the devil. We are again bird caged up, legs binded up, not being able to fly in the sky freely. We turn back to God and seek forgiveness so that we can start anew again. With God leading us, we no longer feel lost anymore, we now are able to walk right with God and have a sense of direction to what we want to do in our lives. Most imptly, we are more confident of our own personal destiny and the heartbeat of God in each and every of our lives.
