Jesus the bread of life—the answer to world hunger / john 6:26-40 / apostle Lawrence Khong—combined service.
God is the bread of life, only he can satisfy all our hungers in life. The world needs God like never before, as the world is constantly suffering from different hungers, from experiencing physical hunger to spiritual and emotional hunger.
The only provider is God himself. Our stomachs are always not empty but our hearts are always empty and lacking something. The answer can only be found in the relationship between you and God. God has given us the bread of life-the daily bread.
John 6:35 “Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”
1) The bread of life lasts forever—Be wise!
Make a wise and informed choice to accept the bread of life into your life. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. When Jesus performed the miracle of 5loaves and 2 fishes, he told the people not to go for the food that spoils, but for the bread of life that will last forever. What he means here is that do not pursue things of this earth that will only grant you pleasures for a moment of time, but rather go for things that are eternal, and are trustworthy.
John 6:26-27 “Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."
Don’t miss what God has planned for your eternally, and waste your time on things that will not last. Remember to fill your life constantly with God’s grace, love and mercy. Let the miracle of God points you to God so that you will develop an eternal relationship with him, which you will base the foundation of your life upon.
John 8:12 “I am the light of the world.”
John 10:7 “I am the gate of the sheep”
John 11:14 “I am the good shepherd”
John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life.”
John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life.”
John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.”
Jesus is the provider, he is the source of fulfillment.
