faith that breathes-for women
God’s word does not suggest that females should just sit passively at home, waiting to serve their men. In fact, scripture indicates that women should be productive and constantly working. However, society has created a stereotype of women, who are always working at the back, passive and often dominated by males in the workplace and politics. in the past, females are considered as the weaker sex, and often looked down upon by males. However, females have proven themselves these years and have shown through their capabilities and talents that they too are competent and as good as their male counterparts.
In the popular passage on the characteristics of a noble/virtuous woman, proverbs 31, it mentioned that a noble woman of God is hardworking, conscientious, confident and is successful in whatever God has given her to do. Proverbs 31: 16-22 “She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.” she has the characteristics of a typical successful businesswomen who is engaged in real estate transactions and business and endeavors that turn into a profit. She is a blessing to the company that she works in, and she demonstrates managerial skills, as well as benevolence to the poor, caring for the family and serving the lord in the ministry. She is one who is able to handles all the different commitments in her life capably, and understands what her priorities are. She is organized and prepares well for her future; she trusts God for everything she does and prays when in doubt.
It is important to note that her husband is blessed by his peers because he has such an industrious woman. A successful man would have a virtuous, God-fearing and understanding wife at his back, supporting him in whatever he does. None of them would be threatened by the success of the other, both of them have equal rights in their relationship. Both parties would work hard in their marriage together, and they constantly pray together for their marriage, and based their relationship on God himself. They care and love for each other, and understands each other’s thoughts and feelings.
Females, rise up, and make your faith in God as “necessary as breathing.” Don’t take on any role in life without God as the foundation.
