Chap 22 “created to become Christ”

God’s spirit is working in us. It is always the Holy Spirit’s job to change and develop our character. The Holy Spirit is in charge of our character development and the spirit loves to draw close to us. The Holy Spirit wants to produce Christ-like character in us so that we can be more like Jesus. This process that makes us more Godly and holy is called sanctification and it is our 3rd most impt purpose in our lives. We do not have the strength to reproduce Jesus’ character in us. Only the Holy Spirit has the power and strength to mould and develop our character. The Holy Spirit often nudges us with a soft whisper. He guides us to do what is right and lead us away from evil. Christ likeness cannot be obtained by imitation, but only by inhabitation. We can’t just follow Godly, pure, holy and sacred people so that we can be sacred. You also aren’t able to imitate Jesus his way of living just so that you can obtain the Christ likeness character in Jesus. Christ likeness can only be obtained when God lives through you. And that is achieved by choosing to do the right thing in situations and trust God’s spirit to give u his power, love, faith and wisdom to do it. We have to lead a life that is holy and pleasing to the lord that the main goal in our lives is to complete the great commission and to be committed to do the work of the lord.

We must cooperate with the Holy Spirit’s work. Obedience unlocks the power of God. Only when we obey the lord, will God bless us tremendously and perform miraculous acts in your life. Move ahead in your weakness, doing the right thing despite of all our fears and feelings. Because, as what the lord has said, only when we are weak, then we are strong. God’s power only works in our weakness, providing strength for us so that we can have the stamina to carry on. his strength is enough for us to survive and even to surpass our expectations and limits.

The bible often compares spiritual growth to a seed growing into a plant, a construction site in progress, and a child growing up. Each of this action needs active participation. A seed needs to be watered, planted and cultivated; a building has to be built by bricks and a child has to eat and exercise to grow taller and bigger. We need to put in a lot of effort in our spiritual growth; we have to constantly learn the work of God. A new Christian is a toddler; it has only just begun to learn how to crawl. We need to teach it more advanced skills such as walking and running. Likewise, it’s impt that a new-born Christian has to continue to learn and draw near to the spirit, so that he/she will be able to grow more spiritually mature. The bible—the word of God will be his learning textbook, and the spiritual moms/dads/sisters/brothers will be like teachers, guiding and leading the new ones. Therefore in the kingdom of God, everyone is related to one another, and we are one big family. we learn to care and share for one another, looking after each other and making sure that everyone is alright and fine.
